TMT. 116. Tourism and Ethics
Course Description
Students in this course will be able to
learn the basic role of moral ethics and tourism. Ethical responsibilities are
required so that students can be able to manage skills and responsibilities
effectively. Some of the ethical issues to be taught in this course include:
communication ethics, psychological and moral ethics, business ethics,
leadership and management ethics. Another issue related to ethics that this
course will address is that of research ethics. Tourism is a course that deals
with interpersonal relations. Knowledge of ethical principles as it applies to
tourism will become an integral part of this course.

Course Description
This course introduces students to the
fundamental issue of recreation that is central to tourism. Since recreation and
leisure are the driving force to the smooth functioning of tourism, students in
this course will learn what recreation entails and how it can help tourists get
the fullest from tourism. Some of the element of recreation like entertainment,
relaxation, peace of mind, and climate will constitute the basic tools of this
course. Students will also learn why recreation and tourism are interchangeable.
Other issues that will be discussed in this course are parks, natural and
man-made attractions.

Course Description
This course will acquaint the students
with the requisite knowledge on the means of transportation to achieve a
successful tourism business. Since the primary aim of tourism is transporting
tourists from place to place, means of transportation becomes primordial. The
knowledge on how different means of transportation provide unique services to
tourism business will be taught in this course. Safety tips and security
techniques will also constitute important element that students in this course
will study.

Course Description
This course will enable the students to
learn valuable insights into sustainability as it pertains to tourism. Issues
like conservation and biodiversity as it relates to the tourism business will
constitute the core of this course. Students will have the opportunity to
acquire valuable knowledge in monitoring and evaluating techniques of tourism
management for the purpose of continuity. Since tourism goes beyond regional
confines, it will be very essential for students enrolled in this course to be
able to distinguish between regional and state destinations as far as tourism is
concern. Most of the issues and awareness about the sustainability of the
tourism business both for the short and the long term will be covered in this

Course Description
This course will acquaint the students
on the importance of cross-cultural issues encountered in the tourism industry.
Since tourism cannot effectively work without the participation of visitors from
different cultural background, it is necessary that students be grounded in
intercultural matters. The students will have to learn about different
communication styles, food, taste, fashion, mannerisms, attitudes, customs and
traditions of those coming from entirely different cultural backgrounds. This is
important so that every tourist is satisfied to visit and learn about the
country where the tour is being conducted.

Course Description
This course intends to inculcate the
discipline of policy development in tourism. Students will be able to learn
about the fundamental issues of economic, social and political forces that can
shape the policy of the tourism industry. Policy issues are issues that relate
to research and execution. Students in this course will learn how historical
factors and governmental influences have helped to improve the tourism industry
in the past and what policies are being fashioned now for the tourism industry
in the future.

This course is design to fit the needs
of the 21st and 22nd century tourism. Students will
acquaint themselves with necessary tools needed to successfully carry out
tourism in the sea and air. The knowledge about cruise ship or boat and how they
are used to carryout successful tourism in the sea will be of paramount
importance to students of this course. Since the space is gearing up for future

will have to apply to selected tourism industries in the country or outside the
country as the case maybe for internship training. This internship is
credit-based. The target industry will have to send a report on the student's
performance to the university.

Course Description
Students registered for this course
will do a practicum with units within the university dealing mainly with
touristic matters.
TMT. 303. Tourism and Law1
Course Description
Students taking this course would be
required to learn the usefulness of constitutional law and how it is applicable
to the tourism industry. Students would be required to use law library resources
and databases on law matters related to the successful operation of the tourism
industry.

Course
Description
This course
explores the socio-economic and political implications of destination management
in relation to tourism. Tourists have the nature of the destination before
embarking on the trip. It becomes incumbent then to train students to seek ways

will acquaint the students on the importance of international law and how it can
affect international tourism. Since tourism involves interacting with people and
nation states, the role of international law is important for a successful
completion of a degree in tourism. Students in this course will be able to learn
the nature and role that laws within and without nation states can affect
tourism.

Students in
this course will be able to have experience and expertise in international
tourism by working with international tourism company of their choosing. The
credit for the course will be communicated to the University by the agency that

Students in this course are required to
undertake practicum with Zohery Tours company or any other company of their
choice.
TMT. 405. Practicum II
Students in this course will have to
work closely with an international tourism company in the country of their
choosing to have experience in International tourism.
TMT. 406. Practicum III
Students who register for this course
will have to work with Sea and Air Tourism Company of their choosing in any
given selected country.
